Super Saving Saturday!

Well last week I shopped for two weeks again so this week I only needed to get the deals!

I have read a lot about stockpiling so I have been trying to do this a little at a time.

So here is how I did this week.

I shopped at our local Shoprite. I do not do my majority of grocery shopping here but I usually pickup the items that are at a great buy especially if there are some great coupons to go with them! :)

Red Bliss Potatoes 5lbs reg price $2.49 ,on sale for &1.99

4-Secret Flawless Deodorant reg price $4.29 each, sale price $3.99 each
used 4/2.00 mfg coupons and received $6.00 in store coupons for next shopping order

6- Boxes of Kellogg's Cereal 2.99 each on sale for 3/$4.00
used 3 $1.00/2 mfg coupons

2- Reynolds foil reg. price $3.49 each on sale for $2.49 each
used 2 $1.00 mfg coupons

4- Shoprite Zip Freezer Bags 15 Ct reg price $ 1.84 each sale price $.92 each

2-Scotch Brite Scrub Sponge 3 ct $3.29 each on sale for $1.99 each
used 1.00/2 mfg coupon

1-Chock Full o' nuts coffee reg 2.99 on sale for 1.99 ( my sweet husband needed this :)

3-Dannon Lite and Fit yogurt 6 pack reg $3.29 each on sale for $1.69 each (I had a rain check for these) used 3 - 1.00 mfg coupons (these came out to .69 cents each making each yogurt only .12 cents each :)

I also had $5.96 in store coupons

Grand total before sale and coupons : $71.37
Total after coupons and sale : $ 23.75
I saved $ 47.62 dollars !!!

And I have $6.00 store coupons for the next trip!

I am still learning the ropes but I am enjoying the savings !

Saving Saturday!

This week I did not have to go grocery shopping! At least not for a full weeks worth.

Last week I decided to write up two weeks of menu's and I shopped for two weeks.

It was so nice not to have to go to Aldi's and do the weekly shopping.

I thought I would try this out this month and see how we would fair for two weeks on one shopping trip.

So far everything seems to be working out very good!

I actually could not believe my bill last week for two weeks was very reasonable which left a little over for a few extras that I picked up this week.

Since I had a little extra this week I was able to go to a couple of local stores and snatch a few good deals.

Here they are.

At Target this week I was able to buy :

2 Lysol Neutra Air Kits On sale for $5.99 each
Used 2/5.00 mfg coupons and they came out to .99 cents each!
2 Pepperidge Farm Gold fish $ 1.79 each
Used 2/ 1.00 Target coupons paid .79 cents each
2 Nestle Tall house cookies refrig. dough on sale for 2.39 each
Used 2/ 1.00 mfg coupons paid 1.39 each (a treat!) We never buy these!

I also shopped at our Local Stop and Shop grocery store

I was able to buy 4/ Healthy Ones Deli meat

Reg price 3.49
Sale price 3.00
Used 4/ .75 cent coupons which where doubled.
I paid $1.50 each !

The Lord is so good!

Here are the deals that I was blessed to find this past week.

Rite Aid:

They had Bounty Paper Towels B1G1 Free. At our local store they were 1.29 each reg price.
I had a $1.00 Mfg coupon for 2/1.00 .
I had two coupons so I was able to purchase four rolls for .15 cent each !



Shoprite:

This is a local grocery store up here in New England and lately I have really be finding some great deals.

Here is what I purchased last week.

4- Colgate toothpaste
On sale for .99 cents each (reg 2.19)
I had 4 $1.00 Mfg coupons so they were Free

4- Mennen Speed stick deodorant.
On Sale for .99 cents each (Reg 1.89)
I had 2 Mfg coupons for 2/1.00
.49 cents each

4- Robitussin cough Formula 4 oz.49*
On sale for 1.99 (reg 4.99)
I had 4 Mfg coupons for $1.00
.99 cents each

3- Sucrets Ice 6 pk
On sale 1/2 price 1.49 (reg 2.99)
I had 3 Mfg coupons for 1.50
Free for all of these!

$47.83 worth of items for $6.53 oop

Shopping for 10!

After reading the post from Moneysavingmoms yesterday about the MSN article which talked about groceries and shopping on $117.00 a week for a family of 4 .

I decided to post about what a family of 10 could buy for groceries for a week. I read the post from the women who stated that she had two small children and spent over $200.00 a week! I can believe this in a normal grocery store not using any coupons and just buying what ever they wanted.

I followed Crystals advise and began with a menu. I than went to Coupon Mom I love this website!

I checked out the deals at Shoprite one of the stores in our area. Sadly we do not have any Krogers here up north!

I than went and checked out my coupons for the items that she had listed as the best deals. I usually will only look at the items that are at least 50% off or more. Usually I like the 60% or more!

I printed out the deals she mentioned and than I made an Aldis list of items I usually buy there.

We have two Aldis nearby but they are both about 15-20 mins away. I choose the one that has the Shoprite just in the next plaza to Aldis. Have to save gas too right!



Here is my purchases from Shoprite:

4 Boxes of General Mills Cereal on sale for $1.88 each- had a 1.00 coupon on two so they came out the 1.38 a box.

6 Lipton WG Alfredo pasta on sale for .94 each coupon makes them .61 cents each

12 Hunts Ketchup 24 oz on sale for .88 cents each coupons makes them .38 cents each

8 Betty Crocker brownie mix on sale for 1.25 each coupon makes them .75 cents each

2 Scrubbing Bubble Bathroom Cleaner on sale for 1.00 coupon makes them .99 cents each

2 Huggies Toilet wipes on sale for 2.49 each coupon makes them .99 cents each

6 Ziploc Bags on sale for 1.39 each coupon makes them .64 cents each

1 Pert Shampoo 3.29 after coupon .29 cents

1 pkg of Chicken breast on the bone on sale for .99 cents a pound (this was forgotten in the photo)

Next trip to Aldis

Now Aldis does not take coupons but their prices are so much better than any grocery store around here. I am so thankful to the Lord for this store.

I purchased many items for our weekly shopping as you can see in the photo because I purchased some of the things at Shop rite that I usually buy at Aldis I was able to save money there.

My total at Aldis was 106.44

Total altogether 139.91

I must say that on the way home we found a vegetable stand that was selling fresh corn! We could not resist after all we are on vacation right! We bought two dozen which was 5.00 a dozen.. Up here that is a really good deal for fresh corn. Yum!

Now I usually do not like to spend even this much per week but last week I only spent around 80.00.

I did buy a few things like ice pops as a treat because my husband was with me and he wanted to treat the children since he is on vacation this week.

Well it was more than 117.00 but still not to bad for a family of 10.

I will try to post our weeks menu with this food to give you an idea what I can make for our large hungry family!

Savings for the Week!

This week I went to Price Chopper and this is the deal I found there.

Their Central Market Ice Cream was on sale for $1.99 each
I purchased 3 of them.
In our Price Chopper there is a coupon scanner at the front of the store which I always use.

They always have a coupon for this ice cream so I received a coupon for $1.00 on the purchase of two.

so it was $4.97 for three containers of yummy ice cream! Divide that by 10 hungry people and that is about .50 a person! Not bad. Of course hot fudge would have made the deal even better!

Central Market Ice Cream is one of my favorites! They are really tasty, and creamy too! So I was excited that my mom made this great deal! Good job Mom! oh, and the pics are so cute too! ~Rebecca
